Here is my image. I have spent the majority
of my career looking for nice even, diffused light.
Only in the last year I've been seeking out
intense light sources and trying to make them work.
So this is image, taken last week at my studio, goes in that
direction.
I love how you lit their faces in the splashes of available light. It makes me think of the mottled light technique that Joe showed us where he used a strobe light at full power passing through a tree from a significant distance then placed the model advantageously in the splashs of light. Of course, the sun is the inspiration for that.
ReplyDeleteI really like the feel of the shot - and the framing too. Very, very nice.
One minor nit for me is the ankle (I think) on the left. The bright spot kept drawing my eye away from the couple until I could figure out what it was. You might consider toning it down just a tad, sort of like the hand that is in shadow.
Virginia
WOW, very nicely done, giving me ideas for my assignment photo.
ReplyDeleteThe mottled light has a very nice feel to it, quiet/romantic/relaxing.
I would agree with Virginia, I think I'd tone down the light on the ankle, hand and the guy side, just to keep the eye from wanting to wander there.
Dramatic, beautiful, stunning stop me when I've made my point. Beautiful shot Chris!
ReplyDeleteVery nice image Chris, you made use of the dappled light source I try to stay away from and really made it work! I do agree with Virginia about the bright spots on the ankle, I think his sleeve next to her head, and his shirt on the bottom right of the image; easy fix though just burn it down. Overall a really cool image, I also dig on the light pattern hitting the wall behind them!
ReplyDeletethanks everybody. Good to hear from you Anthony!
