More light

Hi Guys,
here's the latest self assignment from me.  I was looking
to try out gels but the light starting going quick, so I ended up throwing
on a green gel (not even sure which) , tweeked the kelvin and then just gave up.  I was in almost complete darkness
so focusing was fun, the shutter was at 10' to 15' on tripod.  So all that to say
I showed up and did my best.  Please let me know how this could be better.
Thanks Guys, onward and upward.

  1. A green gel? Man you live on the edge! Really love the shot, especially the sky! What was your flash setting? Manual? Any diffusion?
    Great job!!!!!

  2. green gel, right, what was I thinking.
the light was a 580II shooting thru an umbrella
with part of it flagged with the shell cover.
the first image was at f5.6 @ about 10 seconds
and the second, which was shot first and held
5.6 @1/4. Glad you like it. Trying to push the portraits
more make them more compelling, not sure if this succeeded
    but practice, practice.

  3. I really love these and who would have thought of a green gell?

The light fall off works well and the background color is to die for.

Very moody shots - but in a manly way, of course.

  4. A little slow on my comment, but I liked the way these turned out. Fun use of the gel, great posing/positioning (especially #2), both images are definite keepers.
